I’ve taken a stand against blood cancer.

On the 14th of April 2021 A very c;ose friend and helper of mine, Brian Carey lost his dearest partner Jeffrey Slater to complications of AML. He was a paliative care nurse at Penninsula health golflinks rd Frankston  Victoria and he loved this special work.

He was diagnosed with AML Feb 5 and we lost him just 2 months later on the 14th of April,  so I wanted to remember him by doing what he and I took great pride in doing and that is to help others, this is an awful way to leave this world so anything you can do  to help find a cure for this insidious illness will be welcome.

jeff and Brian loved to ride their bikes somewhere and have a simple picknick of a sandwich and a thermos of milo, yup a couple of leatheclad bikers, they also had a teddy bear as a hitch hiker every time we went out.

I have been afforded the privilage of using Brians harley to ride around the mornington penninsular and also hang out at santas place at Torca tce mornington friday, Saturday and sunday mornings until the evevening dec 24, my special day. so if you see me around and wnt to take a pic all I ask is you consider a donation

This illness can strike anyone of any age

This is very much in the spirit of St Nicholas to be involved in helping others in need

Today, more than 50 Australians will be told that they have blood cancer and tomorrow - another 50 families will be devastated by the same news.

I have created this page to raise vital funds to help provide the special care that is needed to get families through a blood cancer diagnosis as well as to help fund more game-changing research into this disease.

The money I raise will help provide care for those in need right now — and it will back the brightest researchers to continue uncovering faster diagnoses and better treatments to save lives.

Please show me your support by donating to my fundraising campaign.
