Runnin’ Down a Dream!
Today, more than 53 Australians will be told that they have blood cancer and tomorrow - another 53 families will be devastated by the same news.
On February 10th I’m signed up to run my first ever half marathon in South Australia’s ‘Robe Run’ in honour of family members, friends, and their family and friends, whose lives have been turned upside down by blood cancer. I’ll be running with all of them in my heart and in my head. Running for David, Tim and Carol who are so dearly missed. Running for Merv and Warren who made it through their treatment and are gratefully living and loving life big. Running for Helen, Pete, Meralyne, Cheryl, Sam, and for others around the country, as well as for those who love them, as they navigate the challenges of blood cancer treatment. Running for the specialists, doctors, nurses and support staff who work so hard and care so much. Running for the researchers who never cease trying to find faster diagnoses and better treatments to save lives.
I’ve created this page to raise vital funds to help provide the special care that is needed to get families through a blood cancer diagnosis as well as to help fund more game-changing research into this disease.
