In memory of Charlie
Charlie was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2017, a rare and incurable blood cancer that develops from plasma cells in the bone marrow.
Plasma cells are a type of white blood cell found in the bone marrow. They are part of the immune system and help fight infection. When cancerous, these abnormal plasma cells spread throughout the bone marrow and can affect multiple areas of the body including the spine, skull, shoulders, ribs and pelvis.
The causes of this disease are largely unknown. Patients have a 60% chance of survival 5 years after a diagnosis.
Medical research is key to finding a cure and to provide quality of life for those who are living with this disease. We ask that you consider making a donation to The Leukaemia Foundation in memory of Charlie.
