I’ve taken a stand against blood cancer.
I am fundraising to help the 53 Australians who will know that they have blood cancer by the end of today — and for the 53 families who will face the same devastating news tomorrow.
In 2021, I launched a fundraising campaign and shared the story of my niece, Megan Reid, who was diagnosed with Stage 2A Hodgkin’s lymphoma at just 16 years old. Megan was my daughter Lily’s first cousin, and she was overjoyed when Lily was born. Not long after Megan’s little sister Erin arrived, I had my second daughter, Violet—whom Megan absolutely adored. I raised $4469 in funds in the fight against blood cancer.
Tragically, Megan lost her battle in 2022, just shy of her 19th birthday. Her courage and spirit continue to inspire me every day. For as long as I’m able, I will grow my red locks long, raise funds for blood cancer research, and donate my hair for wig-making—to honour Megan’s memory and help others facing similar battles.
I have created this page to raise vital funds to help provide the special care that is needed to get families through a blood cancer diagnosis as well as to help fund more game-changing research into this disease.
The money I raise will help provide care for those in need right now — and it will back the brightest researchers to continue uncovering faster diagnoses and better treatments to save lives.
