Sparkle for research

Thank you

Thank you everyone who donated money, their time, their services towards Sparkle for Research.

In total we have raised about $3500 ($750 to come across from cash donations, and about $200 from Park Lane Jewellery).

Dad got a hair cut and beard shave.

Since first posting and signing up to raise money, my mother passed away due to Multiple Myeloma. Her funeral was a couple of days before our fundraising day. I think she would have been happy that Dad did the shave and very honoured for the amount of money that was raised.

Reach the target to shave the beard!

My father has said that he will shave his beard of at least 15 years once we reach $2000 in our fundraising target.

Let’s get that beard gone!

About 18 months ago, my family was one of the 47 being told of a Myeloma diagnosis.
Two days ago, we were told that there was no more treatment available to treat my family member.

We are now on care and comfort plan.
We have been told ‘sooner not later’

Myeloma is a rare blood cancer, it acts and reacts in different ways for different people.

Raising more funds for research and development of treatment is something I can do.

I’ve taken a stand against blood cancer.

I am fundraising to help the 47 Australians who will know that they have blood cancer by the end of today — and for the 47 families who will face the same devastating news tomorrow.

I am fundraising because I am one of these families.

I have created this page to raise vital funds to help provide the special care that is needed to get families through a blood cancer diagnosis as well as to help fund more game-changing research into this disease.

The money I raise will help provide care for those in need right now — and it will back the brightest researchers to continue uncovering faster diagnoses and better treatments to save lives.

Please show me your support by donating to my fundraising campaign.

He might be surprised of what he looks like under all that beard. You should have an open afternoon where we can come watch him get it shaved.
