IRONMAN TRIATHLON CAIRNS

I’ve taken a stand against blood cancer.

Tragically my wife's 18 year old nephew recently lost his fight with Leukaemia. In the prime of health and with the world at his feet he suddenly became severely ill and consequently diagnosed with Leukaemia. A brave battle ensued employing the latest technology treatments and devoted support from family and community. Devastatingly though it only took 12 months for this aggressive form of Leukaemia to take another precious life.

Today, more than 53 Australians will be told that they have blood cancer and tomorrow - another 53 families will be devastated by the same news. Hearing the words “ you have blood cancer “ turns lives upside down and creates a terrifying uncertain future.  It threatens to steal the one thing from patients they need most during the months and sometimes years of treatment … hope.

I have created this page to raise vital funds to help provide the special care that is needed to get families through a blood cancer diagnosis as well as to help fund more game-changing research into this disease.

The money I raise will help provide care for those in need right now — and it will back the brightest researchers to continue uncovering faster diagnoses and better treatments to save lives.

As I take on this Ironman Cairns triathlon challenge - starting with 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike ride and finishing with 42 km marathon run - please show me your support by donating to my fundraising campaign.
