Update on Joel’s health! Joel has unfortunately returned positive to leukaemia again, taking him out of remission. He is on the wait list for another bone marrow transplant!I’ve taken a stand against blood cancer.
Today, more than 53 Australians will be told that they have blood cancer and tomorrow - another 53 families will be devastated by the same news.
I have created this page to raise vital funds to help provide the special care that is needed to get families through a blood cancer diagnosis as well as to help fund more game-changing research into this disease.
In 2022 my partner Joel Hein was diagnosed with Leukeamia, spent months in hospital after the birth of our baby boy Colton, he went through several rounds of chemo & radiation, 2 weeks on death row in ICU on lung support, to recovering and having a bone marrow transplant to reach remission in 2023.
Nothing could have prepared us to go through that. Joel now in remission spends his time working, enjoying good food & furthering his riding. He also for the first time competed in team penning this year, placing 4th.
Running an event at J & J Equine is our way of giving back to the organisations that supporting not only Joel but our entire family at home and care in the hospital, through something we love doing as a hobby & compete in.
The money we raise will help provide care for those in need right now — and it will back the brightest researchers to continue uncovering faster diagnoses and better treatments to save lives.
