I’ve taken a stand against blood cancer.
Craig Glennon was a true legend in tennis and football, dedicating his life to the sports he loved. Whether mentoring young umpires through the SANFL Umpiring Academy or leading as President of the West Beach Tennis Club for over 25 years, he gave his all. His impact was immense, earning him multiple life memberships, a Tennis SA Service Award, and an Order of Australia Medal.
As a highly respected official, Craig spent nearly five decades in tennis, officiating at 31 Australian Opens and serving as CEO and Co-Chairperson of Tennis Officials Australia. His leadership and mentorship shaped the future of officiating in the country.
More than his titles, Craig was a mentor, a leader, and a friend to many. His passion, dedication, and kindness will never be forgotten.
On July 30th, the Willaston Football Club will host a Sportsman’s Night to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation. With over 150,000 Australians currently living with blood cancer, the Foundation provides vital support, including financial assistance, transport, accommodation, and emotional care for patients and their families. Relying almost entirely on community generosity, the Foundation receives little to no government funding.
This special event honours Craig Glennon and recognizes the support he received during his battle. Join us for an evening of camaraderie and fundraising to help ensure no Australian faces blood cancer alone.
