Memories Of Mum 2022

The Story Behind Memories of Mum--

It was 2 years ago, that my beautiful Mum grew her angel wings. She fought a reasonably brief battle with blood cancer, which in the end took her from my family and I way to early. I have three amazing sisters and my awesome Dad who were too, completely and utterly shattered.

I sat on my deck a couple of weeks after I lost Mum, with my Dad, contemplating what good comes out of such a terrible thing. The only thing I could think of was basically creating some sort of legacy and making her proud. I had the idea of a Mothers Day event, some sort of tribute to not only my Mum, but to all the other Mums that are no longer with us. 

As the organizing process kicked in for 2021, the support from my family and friends who still have their Mums changed my goal slightly. It reminded me to celebrate all Mums, both lost and still here. Some of my greatest support has come from those still lucky enough to have their Mums.

And so, Memories of Mum was founded. Its about celebrating women, and the amazing Mums out there. Its a tough gig sometimes, and when you don't have your Mum in your life anymore, its even tougher. Memories of Mum is about coming together with family and friends, sharing stories, enjoying a drink and nice food, and most of all, celebrating Mums, both still here and the ones whos who are no longer with us.
