Cycling for Leukaemia: 2,400 km from Paris to Lisbon
53 Australians are diagnosed with blood cancer every day. The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national charity dedicated to supporting patients with all types of blood cancer, including leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and amyloidosis. The Foundation funds research, advocates for better health policy, and provides patient care. Their services include emotional support, transport to appointments, and free accommodation for regional families who must relocate for treatment.
To raise funds for the Foundation, I am cycling solo and unsupported from Paris to Lisbon in January and February 2026.
I aim to complete the 2,400-kilometre journey in 20 days. The route largely follows the Grande Randonnée system through France, before joining the Camino Francés across Spain and the Caminho Português into Portugal.
The ride traverses the Pyrenees mountain range via the Roncesvalles Pass and crosses the Montes de León in Spain. The cumulative vertical ascent is approximately 22,000 metres.
Your contribution directly supports the Foundation's ability to assist Australians living with blood cancer. Please donate to help them save lives and support families facing a diagnosis.
