What is Shave for a Cause?
The Tyndale Shave for a Cause is a fundraising event organised by the Year 6 students of Tyndale Christian School to support the Leukaemia Foundation. Leukaemia is a type of blood cancer that affects many individuals and families and can have a significant impact on their lives.
This event will be held on Thursday, 3 December, at our school. Staff and student volunteers are stepping forward to shave their heads in solidarity with those who lose their hair during chemotherapy, a common treatment for people battling leukaemia. Through this act, we hope to raise awareness and show support for those affected by this disease.
This cause is especially meaningful to our school community. Earlier this year, we sadly lost our beloved fellow student, Ethan, who passed away in August after his battle with leukaemia. His loss has deeply affected our community, and we continue to remember and honour him.
In Ethan’s memory, the Year 6 students have set a fundraising goal of $5000. All funds raised will be donated directly to the Leukaemia Foundation to help provide vital support, resources, and research for those affected by blood cancer.
