I Get To Choose To Be Uncomfortable - Blood Cancer Patients Don't.
Blood Cancer is really uncomfortable. Not a single cancer patient gets to choose to experience this discomfort.
I think I am extremely privileged to have control of the uncomfortable situations I put myself into.
That's why I'm throwing myself into something that genuinely terrifies me. Something WELL outside my day-to-day zone of comfort: a half IRONMAN.
The training is tough, I can't think of much worse than swimming or jumping on a bike – it demands work, dedication, and a stubborn persistence, but a type not even comparable to a cancer patient. At the end of the day, I get to stop feeling uncomfortable training for this whenever I choose.
I've watched a beautiful member of my own family embody these very qualities, fighting to be a proud blood cancer survivor. Her strength fuels this fire in me.
This isn't just about personal endurance; it's about paying it forward. I've set a big, ambitious goal: $2000 to make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing this disease. Every dollar you contribute will power vital research, provide crucial support, and offer hope to patients and their families.
This discomfort I'm choosing? It's temporary. The impact of your generosity? That can be life-changing.
