I’ve taken a stand against blood cancer.
Today, more than 53 Australians will be told that they have blood cancer and tomorrow - another 53 families will be devastated by the same news.
This foundation is particularly close to my heart. I have had family members suffer from blood cancer. More recently, one of my close friends Emma was diagnosed with Early T-Cell Precursor Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in November last year. The news was shocking and devastating for her and her family. It’s not something anyone should have to face, especially at her age. She has shown immense strength throughout these past months and we are so proud of the way she has tackled her diagnosis head on.
On April 2nd I will be running a half marathon with my right hand woman Buza to help raise vital funds for the Leukaemia Foundation to help provide the special care that is needed to get families through a blood cancer diagnosis as well as to help fund more game-changing research into this disease.
For those of you who know Em, she loves her exercise and running so it will be a privilege to do it for her.
