I’ve taken a stand against blood cancer.
Today, more than 53 Australians will be told that they have blood cancer and tomorrow - another 53 families will be devastated by the same news.
For my family this is a reality. 5 years ago my mother was diagnosed with chronic lymphatic Leukemia. Looking at mum you would think she’s healthy, on the inside she's far from it. Some days mum is fine, then there are the bad ones. Last year (Oct/Nov) her status moved from chronic to acute, which is not good. While most people started back at work on the 12th Jan. Mum started her next level treatment, chemo every month for 2 years + oral medications. She is chained to the hospital, and lives/dies by the success of these treatments.
Have created this page to raise vital funds, raise awareness, help provide the special care that is needed to get families through a blood cancer diagnosis. Also fund more game-changing research into this disease.
Watching mum has given me tremendous strength, its also almost broken me. My resolve, Cant Run from it, Can Run for it. Personally, will be running 10km every time mum gets chemo, racing a half marathon, the GC30 kilometre race and the full marathon on the Gold Coast on July 2nd.
The money I raise will help provide care for those in need right now — it will back the brightest researchers to continue uncovering faster diagnoses and better treatments to save lives. Please show me your support by donating to my fundraising campaign.
