Every Step Is a Step Closer – Running for Leo

I’ve taken a stand against blood cancer.

Today, more than 53 Australians will be told that they have blood cancer and tomorrow - another 53 families will be devastated by the same news.

On 14 June, our family’s world changed forever. My nephew Ben’s beautiful 5 year old son, Leo, was diagnosed with acute T-cell leukemia. In an instant, life became hospital visits, treatments, uncertainty, and a battle that no child should ever have to face.

Leo is an incredibly brave little boy, and while his journey has only just begun, he faces each day with a courage that inspires everyone around him.

On August 2nd, I’ll be running a half marathon with Leo in my heart every step of the way. Every kilometre represents hope, strength, and the determination of a little boy fighting the biggest battle of his life.
