I’ve taken a stand against blood cancer.
I am organising this fundraiser because leukemia has personally changed my family forever.
I lost my brother to leukemia, and it is something that still affects my family deeply. It is hard to explain what that kind of loss does to people unless you have lived through it. You do not just lose someone once — you feel it in birthdays, family moments, milestones, conversations, and all the things they should have still been here for.
For my family, leukemia was not just an illness we heard about. It became part of our lives, and then it became the reason someone we loved was no longer with us.
This event is my way of trying to turn something painful into something positive. Through Domino’s Swansea, I have a connection to the local community and an opportunity to bring people together. I want to use that in a meaningful way.
My hope for “Pizza for a Purpose” is that it becomes more than just a fundraiser. I want it to be a day where local families can come together, enjoy themselves, support an important cause, and help raise awareness for something that has had such a heavy impact on my own family.
I do not want leukemia to feel like a death sentence for families the way it felt for mine. I know there is still so much work being done in treatment, care, research and support, and I would be honoured to contribute to that in any way I can.
This fundraiser is for my brother, for my family, and for every family who has had to sit beside someone they love and hope for more time.
