I’ve taken a stand against blood cancer.
This fundraiser is in honour of my Nana, Barbra, who was taken too young at the age of 45 by Leukaemia.
She is gone, but never forgotten.
Today, more than 53 Australians will be told that they have blood cancer and tomorrow - another 53 families will be devastated by the same news.
I have created this page to raise vital funds to help provide the special care that is needed to get families through a blood cancer diagnosis as well as to help fund more game-changing research into this disease.
The money we raise will help provide care for those in need right now — and it will back the brightest researchers to continue uncovering faster diagnoses and better treatments to save lives.
As a part of this fundraiser, Mum and I will be cutting and donating our hair on 12/8/23 to Sustainable Salons who are a part of the Ponytail Project run by the Cancer Council. This organisation distributes them to charities and local wigmakers where they can become wigs for people going through medically induced hair-loss conditions such as alopecia and cancer or help fund other life-changing programs. My mother had cancer when I was 10 years old. She was very lucky and survived it and lived for another 30+ years. This donation is in honour of the people who have not had the same successful outcome as my mother.
