I’ve taken a stand against blood cancer.
Today, more than 53 Australians will be told that they have blood cancer and tomorrow - another 53 families will be devastated by the same news.
One of my best friends “I” was diagnosed with AML this year - it was the hardest thing to learn of the news. I have however been so encouraged by her (and her family’s) resilience and tenacity to brave the treatment and prolonged hospital stays.
“I” and I share a love for Pusheen the Cat - and so this Christmas I decided to make some Pusheen-themed Christmas cards, gift tags and made some yummy gingerbread to raise awareness and funds for the Leukaemia Foundation in honour of “I” - as she makes her way to day 100 after bone marrow transplant!
I have seen first hand how leukaemia affects a person and their closest and dearest so I hope that the money raised can provide the special care that is needed to get families through a blood cancer diagnosis as well as to help fund more game-changing research into this disease.
The money I raise will help provide care for those in need right now — and it will back the brightest researchers to continue uncovering faster diagnoses and better treatments to save lives.
Thanks to all who have donated so far and please continue to show me your support by donating to my campaign.
I plan to continue making more “Brighter” cards - every card sold will hopefully bring a smile to its recipient, and also add support to the efforts at the Leukaemia Foundation.
